Irish footballer St Ledger's dismay after he was 'dumped by text'
Ireland defender Sean St Ledger has expressed his dismay after he was dumped by his model girlfriend... by text.
The international footballer (29), who was recently dropped by Leicester City, took to Twitter to share his disgust after Dublin model Faye Rooney ended their relationship.
“@FayeRooney sad to see you break up with me over text,” he wrote to his 44,000 Twitter followers online.
“I obviously wasn’t enough for you, you obvs seem to like the recreational things more [sic],” he added.
He has since deleted the tweets.
The break-up was out of the blue as, just an hour earlier, the footballer had shared lyrics from Alicia Keys’ hit ‘New York’ with his 22-year-old girlfriend on the social media site.
Rooney told the Irish Sun last night that she had not ended their relationship. The couple merely had a ‘silly tiff’ and St Ledger’s tweet blew it out of proportion.

But St Ledger already seemed to be enjoying the single life last night as he joked with his Twitter followers and fans.
“Get yaself on Tinder ledge! [sic],” one wrote.
“On it already,” St Ledger replied.
Another fan offered advice, writing, “We’ve all been there.”
“Chin up. We’ve all been there and you’ll look back on this one day and you won’t give a s***e!,” he wrote.
This is the second time St Ledger has been broken up with by a model; the defender dated model Hayley Ryan before she ended the relationship to reignite one with an ex-boyfriend.
