Kim Kardashian is willing to do whatever it takes to lose the 55lbs she gained during her second pregnancy.

The reality tv star (35) welcomed her second child, Saint West earlier this month and while she has already shed 17lbs in just a matter of weeks, she's reportedly undergoing a drastic makeover to get back to her pre-baby weight.

After welcoming her daughter North (two) in 2013, she became a virtual recluse for two months at her mother Kris Jenner's home - working out multiple times daily and sticking to the low carb Atkins diet.

But she's keen to take things up a notch this time, restricting daily calorie intake over the course of three months.

"Kim's already put a plan in place," an insider told heat magazine.

"She's on the Atkins, but this time with more scientific portion control, starting with 1,200 calories a day for the first month, then reducing it to 1,000 calories a day by the second month and 900 a day by the third month.

"She's also aiming for two totally carb-free meals a day, as well as one liquid only day a week, where she has green juices and almond milk based smoothies."

Since moving in with her mother again, Kim has hired a private chef said to cost $15k per week, who works with a nutritionist (who charges $1k for one home visit and two phone calls) and changes up her diet every 10 days.

As for her exercise regime, the new mother will be working out for an hour every day, then increasing it to 90 minutes a day by the second month of training with the family's favourite personal trainer Gunnar Peterson, who's responsible for whipping them all into shape.

"The plan is that Kris, Khloe and Kourt will be joining most of the sessions, because Kim's lazy but also competitive. Seeing how good Khloe and Kourt look right now will really spur her on."

Kim has been working on her fitness levels throughout her pregnancy and said this week that she wants to return to her ideal weight of 120 pounds.

According to the magazine, she will also be relying on her trusty waist trainer for four to six hours per day and twice weekly lymphatic drainage treatments.
