'I'm going to train him' - Conor McGregor hints that a baby boy is on way
UFC champion Conor McGregor has shared his hopes for his unborn baby - insisting caring for the child will be his main priority.
The Crumlin star is expecting his first child with long-term partner Dee Devlin and 'The Notorious' has fuelled speculation he could be getting a son.
He referred to the child as "him" during an interview at An Experience With Conor McGregor event.
"The only time my records are going to be broken are by him. I'm going to train this child," McGregor said. "I hope when it comes down to it I can settle down when I have a child. I hope I can man up and be a father."
McGregor also revealed that he had been offered a number of high-profile roles, including a main part in upcoming film The Predator.
However, he turned it down because filming would take eight weeks and would be happening around the time Dee is due.
Dubliner Dee is expected to welcome their first child into the world this April.
"There have been a lot of offers. They wanted me to be the main guy, to fight Predator," he said.
"So I asked how much and the answer was 'not enough'.
"We talked about it and the number went up but it would mean eight weeks filming in Toronto. It was also around the time Dee is due," he added.
McGregor said that he turned down other offers too, including WrestleMania, for the same reason.
The couple have been dating for eight years and McGregor regularly heaps praise on the pretty brunette for the support she has given him throughout his career.
McGregor confirmed in a post-fight press conference in November after beating Eddie Alvarez in Madison Square Garden in New York, that he and Dee were preparing to welcome their first baby.
