Nicky Byrne’s popular sidekick (29) has spoken out for the first time about her personal life - and how she would support same-sex marriages.

She said: “I have a special someone and we are together two years now. Her name is Kelly and it is very happy days. I can’t complain, everything is going good.”

The creator of RTE’s Electric Disco weekend radio show went on to say how she would be in favour of introducing legislation so that same-sex couples can legally marry in Ireland.

“I would love to get married in Ireland,” she told the Irish Daily Mail.

“I am not a big campaigner and I don’t go out and march. But I think anybody should be allowed to get married if they want to.

“I don’t have a problem if someone else wants to get married so I don’t understand why they should have a problem with what I do.”
