I struggle with my weight just like any woman - Kathryn Thomas

As Operation Transformation's svelte presenter, it's hard to believe that Kathryn Thomas (36) ever had her own weight issues.
But she has insisted that looking so well doesn't come easy to her and she is "prone to putting on weight" as she loves her food so has to exercise regularly.
"I'm not this fitness freak though. I love going out for dinner with my partner Padraig. I'm just like every other woman - you have bad days and bad weeks - but I worry like every other woman," she said.
"I have to work hard for my figure. I'm lucky that I do really enjoy healthy foods and I enjoy running and training. Honestly, exercise keeps me sane.
"I try to do the 'five days on and two off' rule so I eat really clean for five days and then it all goes out the window when I go out to dinner at the weekend.
"Believe me, if I'm out for dinner, I am out for dinner - I have all the courses. It's a treat and I never deny myself that - but I cut back during the week."
She said being on the road for so many years with travel programme No Frontiers has helped her discipline when it comes to managing her diet.
"If this is your lifestyle, you have to learn how to work around it," she told RSVP Magazine.
"You have to know what choices to make. And you have to be prepared, so that does involve bringing your own food and having things to hand you can eat."
Being on TV is "constant motivation" she reveals.
"With friends, I notice they might try and lose weight for a wedding or a big event, but I'm on show all the time so I have to keep at it all the time.
"But you have to do it for you, not because you're on TV," she continued.
She has been dating her other half Padraig McLoughlin for over two years and the pair now live together in Kilmainham.
She admits that she does get fed up being constantly asked when they're going to get married, as she feels it's a question that a man would "very rarely" be asked.
