He's one of the most famous musicians on the planet, but former Beatle Paul McCartney didn't make the list at Tyga's post-Grammy party.

The 26-year-old rapper, who is dating 18-year-old reality tv star Kylie Jenner, hosted an exclusive bash at the Argyle in Hollywood - so exclusive the bouncer turned away from the most famous men in music.

Oh, and Beck and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

The trio, who have dozens of numbers one hits between them, were turned away at the door not once, but twice by the security team and TMZ obtained a video of Paul laughing: "How VIP do we gotta get? We need another hit."

The best part? Paul confused the bash with one he actually wanted to attend - a Mark Ronson hosted party at the Hyde Sunset Kitchen & Cocktail , which was taking place three miles away.

They eventually made it to their intended destination, while Tyga tweeted soon after that he would never have allowed a living legend to be refused from a party he was hosting - which saw Bow Wow, former known as Lil' Bow Wow, make it past the doorman.

"I don't control the door. I had no knowledge SIR PAUL was there. I just performed and left,"  he wrote.

"Why would I deny @PaulMcCartney stop it. He's a legend." The father-of-one is now back in New York by his girlfriend's side, his 15 minutes of fame without a Kardashian connection well and truly over.
