She has ruffled feathers since joining the Made In Chelsea cast, and model Nicola Hughes has admitted that she has faced a backlash from some fans of the show.
The Dublin model (25) was included in the cast after she moved to London to be with her co-star boyfriend Alex Mytton, who announced his love for Nicola on Monday's show.
The Sandyford native admitted she's had to deal with nasty comments from fans of Alex's former flame Binky Felstead, who also stars in the show.
However, Nicola is taking the negativity on the chin and is focusing on the messages of support she's received.
"I've had a lot of 'Team Binky' comments but to be honest it's been quite mixed," she told the Diary.
"I was quite shocked at the support the show has but it's been a mixture, there's been a lot of nice comments as well, you have to take the good with the bad I guess," she added.
Nicola, who never watched the show before she started filming, said she was surprised that viewers were so interested in her coming face to face with Binky for the first time.
"It's mad, I didn't think meeting Binky would be as big of a deal as it was, especially with all her fans," Nicola said.
The claws came out when the pair crossed paths, with Nicola branding Binky "fake". The Assets model admits that it wasn't an ideal first encounter and that she thinks her love rival is really a "nice girl".
"I think what happened between us was that we had never met each other so we had different people saying different things about each other," she said.
"I'd hear something she said about me and then she'd hear something that I supposedly said about her and that kind of built up the tension between us but it's fine. She's a nice girl, it was just a bad first encounter I guess."
The reality star added that she was "on the defensive" when she started on Made in Chelsea, given her DJ beau's history with the Chelsea girl.
"I guess it's me coming into her [Binky's] environment, it's always going to be quite daunting so I guess maybe I was a bit on the defensive.
"I just say how I feel, maybe I don't have much a filter sometimes and maybe that's a good thing or a bad thing, I don't know.
"It's the same anywhere, if a new girlfriend comes on the scene, no one is going to like her."
