Holly Willoughby dating show will see love hopefuls' parents dish the dirt
Holly Willoughby will host a new dating show that will see people hoping to find love quizzing the parents of their potential suitors.
The format of the new ITV series, titled Meet The Parents, will give those "picking" a love interest the chance to ask the parents of the person they want to date any questions they like.
The candidates hoping to be chosen will be watching the question and answer session, but will have no control over what is revealed by their parents.
Willoughby said: "We all know how embarrassing parents can be and nobody knows you better than they do. I can't wait to hear what humiliating secrets they'll be revealing and see who will regret leaving their love life in the hands of their parents."
There is one "get out of jail free" card for those watching their parents spill their life history in the form of one phone call they can make to their parents during the Q&A session.
Once the person who has done the parent grilling has picked a date, they will also get to meet the people they turned down.
Peter Davey, ITV's head of comedy entertainment, said: "I am very excited that Holly is presenting this brand new dating show where the singletons make their decision by meeting the parents first, and I'm looking forward to hearing what embarrassing tales and secrets the parents divulge about their children."
Anyone wanting to enter the show and find true love can enter on the ITV website.
