Holly White shares the 'magical' details of her upcoming wedding
Fashionista Holly White has her pick of glamorous venues to chose from when it comes to her forthcoming wedding, but the TV star and blogger has decided to keep things close to home when it comes to her big day.
The Herald Diary can reveal how Holly (31) has pencilled the wedding in for next year and is currently looking at top venues in Kilkenny as she decides on the perfect location.
"I wanted time to plan everything and get it all organised and really enjoy the build-up to the wedding, so we're not going to rush it. I'm really going to take my time with it," she said.
Her handsome beau, Andrew Wynne, got down on bended knee on New Year's Eve and proposed to his princess in a palace, namely Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.
Describing it as the "most magical place", the Killiney native described her other half as "the love of my life".
The couple have been dating for nearly two years and she said that Andrew went to the same jewellery company that made her mum, Cathy's, wedding ring.
Holly's engagement ring is vintage-style gold with a large sapphire surrounded by diamonds.
Andrew enlisted some family help to make sure that he made the right choice.
"Andrew picked it with both our mums. I'm amazed my mum was able to keep it a secret for so long. I love it so much," she said.
No doubt Holly (whose brother Rob is married to Andrea Roche) will now be turning her attention to finding the perfect dress for her big day.
She's also flying high in her professional life as the fashion contributor on UTV Ireland's The Pulse, working alongside Jenny Buckley, as well as concentrating on her blog.
But she feels that there can be a perception on social media that fashion and beauty bloggers only care about frivolous things as that's their subject matter.
"I am aware that if you're sitting talking about lipstick or a dress, there are bigger problems in the world and it's very easy for people to say 'this is nonsense', so you are open to criticism," she said.
"Sometimes there can be a perception of bloggers that all they care about is make-up or hair-styles.
"None of them do, but that's just what they're promoting; yet that's how they can be preceived by other people, and it's incorrect."
Holly was recently at the launch of Pukka Herbs new range, saying she was a big fan of an holistic lifestyle.
"I'm very interested in overall wellness and when you're self-employed, you can't afford to be too sick," she said.
