He's back: Mel Gibson looks unrecognisable as he touches down in Dublin (again)
Mel Gibson is back in town.
The Oscar-winning actor (60) has returned to Dublin to resume filming for The Professor and The Madman opposite Sean Penn and will be spending another number of weeks in the city.
Gibson is joined by his pregnant fiancée Rosalind Ross, a screenwriter, and recently took a break from shooting to fly back to LA where he promoted his much-hyped return to directing in Hacksaw Ridge and also attended the Hollywood Film Awards.
But the expectant father was a far cry from the Mel Gibson of before as he was pictured making his way through Dublin in just a t-shirt, jeans and trilby hat.
During his sojourn on Irish shores, the Lethal Weapon star is taking up residence at The Shelbourne Hotel, where was pictured on Wednesday, reportedly staying in the exclusive Princess Grace Suite, the two bedroom presidential suite, which costs €5,000 a night.
He previously spent nearly four weeks here before his brief return to Hollywood and Gibson sightings were aplenty - including dining at FX Buckley and Matt The Thresher, while also being spotted climbing The Sugar Loaf and sipping pints in The Long Hall.
He also took in Irish stage show RIOT as part of Dublin Fringe Festival hosted by Panti Bliss.
Panti stars in the production, which has been described as a kaleidoscopic evening of theatre, music, comedy, drag, variety, circus performances and searing social commentary.
It isn't the first touch the controversial star has touched down on Irish shores - he previously jetted in for the 2008 IFTAs where he was given the Contribution to World Cinema award and also stayed The Shelbourne and scouted locations for Braveheart here in 1994.
The Professor and The Madman tells the story of the creation of the Oxford English Dictionary.
Earlier this week, Sean Penn was also spotted filming scenes for the movie, due for release in 2018.
