The former Fair City actress worked with Dornan in The Fall and said the Northern Irish actor was "embarrassed" when he was cast in 50 Shades of Grey.

"He never got the massive hype around 50 Shades of Grey. To him, it was just another part and I guess with that comes an awful lot of pressure.

"He probably didn't realise what he was getting involved in..."

The Dublin actress said that the 33-year-old former Calvin Klein model has a "star quality" that comes natural to him.

"He is totally unassuming. We were at a train station and there were just people following us as we were doing the scenes just to get a glimpse of him," she told The Daily Star.

"He was completely oblivious to it. He's just one of these people that have that star quality when they walk into a room.

"He seems like a really shy guy. He's great to work with and hard working as well. He definitely deserves the success that he's got."

Aoibhinn, who has landed the part of Sorcha in the Ross O'Carroll Kelly play Breaking Dad at the Gaiety Theatre said she won't be reprising her role as Lyndsey Conklin in The Fall.

"I'll be a fan watching it from my couch," she said.

Aoibhinn and fiancee John Burke are set to tie the knot at the Armada Hotel, near Spanish Point, Co Clare - owned by her long-term love.

Last June, the business man got down on one knee during a scenic cliff walk, while their pet dog, Rubie, wore a very special heart shaped collar, saying 'Marry Me?'

And so far, the Castleknock beauty says "plans are going great".

"I get bursts of energy and then I get a little overwhelmed by the whole thing and need to take a breather. But everything is going great," said Aoibhin.
