'He is a true McGregor, he rushes for nobody' - fans await news of baby McGregor
Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin's first child is on the way.
The Notorious told his 12.5m Instagram followers on Friday evening that the happy couple were anticipating their baby's arrival.
"In the hoppo [hospital] not there yet," he wrote alongside a picture of him and a glowing Dee.
Two hours later he posted an image of himself from a press conference thanking his followers for their kind wishes.
"Thanks everyone but we are "not there yet"," he wrote, adding:
"He a true McGregor, he rushes for nobody hahaha".
McGregor announced late last year he and Dee would be welcoming their first child and in February, he expressed fears for his baby's safety in public and warned fans not to mob him on the street.
"I’m not trying to bring a kid into that. If someone comes near me when I have my kid in my hands, like the way they come near me now, looking for pictures, someone’s gonna be badly hurt," he told GQ Magazine.
Similarly, the MMA superstar said he would be taking some time off after welcoming the new arrival to spend with his family and doesn't want their lives to become a celebrity circus.
"I don't want to be bringing a child into anything like this. I don't want any celebrity-type s***, I hate all that. I don't want my family to be like that. So that's a thing in the back of my head so I'm just going to have this baby, take a little bit of time and see what way I feel after that."
He fuelled speculation that the pair could be welcoming a son when he referred to the baby as "him" during an interview at An Experience With Conor McGregor event.
