Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart make rare appearance for The Force Awakens premiere
Actors Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart made a rare public appearance together at the world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The 73-year-old is one of the most famous movie stars in the world and reprises his role as Han Solo in the new blockbuster, directed and written by JJ Abrams.
But it was his turn on the red carpet with wife of five years, former Ally McBeal star Calista (51) that got us talking. Calista, who now features on the Supergirl tv series, opted for a classic black midi dress with an embellished neckline, while Harrison went more casual in a classic suit - minus the tie.
The couple, who have been together since 2002, wed in a low-key ceremony in New Mexico in 2010 and have a son Liam (nine) together. Despite their high profile careers and Ford's reign as one of the most beloved film stars ever, they are famously private when it comes to their relationship.
Ford reflected on the original Star Wars premiere in 1977 at Monday night's exclusive event, saying: "In the '70s nobody knew what to anticipate, nobody had ever seen anything like it. Now we have to live up to what the first film delivered."
Other stars at the premiere including Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Irish actor Domnhall Gleeson, Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganello, Zendaya and Sarah Hyland, among others.
Joseph Gordon Levitt also appeared, dressed as Yoda and pretty much won the premiere.
