Halle Berry files for divorce from Olivier Martinez for the second time in a week
Halle Berry has reportedly filed divorce papers against husband Olivier Martinez for the second time in a week.
The Monster's Ball actress originally submitted a petition to end her two year marriage to the French actor on Tuesday under a pseudonym, but TMZ.com now reports the 49 year old has posted new court documents with both stars’ real names attached.
Sources tell the outlet the star has also given the real name of their son Maceo, after reportedly listing him as Mac Martin in the original petition. The rest of the details remain the same as the first documents, with Halle asking for custody of the two year old. The couple has a pre-nuptial agreement in place which keeps their money separate.
Olivier also filed divorce papers of his own on Tuesday after reportedly taking issue with Halle’s original documents being filed under the pseudonyms Hal Maria and Oliver Martin, but his documents list him as the petitioner.
The couple originally tied the knot in July 2013 in France after becoming engaged in March 2012.
Despite the back and forth with divorce papers, the couple has insisted in a joint statement that the decision to end the marriage was amicable.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce,” it began. “We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son.
“We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children's privacy, as we go through this difficult period.”
The divorce will be Halle’s third. She was previously married to former baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet. As well as Maceo, the Oscar winner also has daughter Nahla from her relationship with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
