Gordon Ramsay's wife Tana suffers miscarriage after five months of pregnancy
Gordon Ramsay's wife, Tana, has suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy, he confirmed.
The celebrity chef and his wife were expecting their fifth child, a baby boy.
In a Facebook post Ramsay thanked everyone for their support over the past couple of weeks.
He wrote: " We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months.
"We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes. I'd especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they've done. Gx"
Ramsay, 49, announced he and Tana, 41, were expecting another baby during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in May.
The couple have been married since 1996, and are already parents to 18-year-old Megan, twins Holly and Jack, 16, and Matilda, 14.
Fans shared their own stories and posted messages of support on social media following the announcement.
"Heartbreaking news, especially tough in the limelight. Find strength in kind words & each other's love," wrote one fan on Twitter.
Ramsay recently pulled out of charity football match Soccer Aid to undergo surgery on his ankle for a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Following the surgery, he thanked fans on Instagram, posting a photograph of himself from his hospital bed.
He revealed the surgery had been successful but said he was: "Obviously upset I can't play this weekend #socceraid and Ironman for @greatormondst and @GTRFoundation next weekend in Saffs I'm not good at lying down. Now I've got no choice , need to sit still !!!! Thank you love to all G."
