Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer wants the keys to Dublin city: 'It's my second home'
She's never been shy about her love of Ireland, but Natalie Dormer wants to take it one step further.
The Game of Thrones actress, who plays Margaery Tyrell in the hit show, is engaged to Irish director Anthony Byrne and divides her time between Dublin, where is based, Belfast, where GOT is shot and her native England.
Speaking on The Anton Savage Show on Today FM, she was asked if Belfast had captured her heart yet.
"Well I have to say Dublin is tattooed on my heart so Belfast won’t win that competition. I think you guys did give me the honorary citizenship. Ive nearly done a decade with a Dub do I’m hoping to get the keys to the city," she laughed.
"It’s my second home, I’m always over."
The couple became engaged in 2011 and prefer to keep a low profile during their time in the capital. And they're taking their relationship to the next level when they begin shooting In Darkness, where Anthony will be directing Natalie in the film they co-wrote.
"Anthony co-wrote the script with me, so that was an interesting one and definitely brings a different dynamic to the relationship," she explained.
"He directed me once before...Anthony directed me in the Someone New video [by Hozier]. Officially we’ve only done one day. If we can survive the subject matter of that music video, I’m pretty sure we can survive anything.
"He’s going to give me a ton of notes – he won’t let me get away with anything or any of my normal tricks."
And Dormer joined a long list of celebrities expressing their support for Hozier's worldwide success, describing him as "absurdly nice".
"It couldn't’t happen to a nicer guy, it truly couldn't’t. he’s an absolutely incredibly lyricist and talented musician and quite good looking as well."
