From panto to pie-making: Twink ventures into baking

Panto queen Twink has launched a brand new career in baking.

The stage star, real name Adele King, is now selling homemade banoffee pies to customers at her local famers market in Terenure, South County Dublin.

Adele has been making appearances at Terenure Village Market in recent weeks, serving fans her delicious treats at her own stall, costing €45 per hire on Saturdays.

The 63-year-old rises at 4am to bake the treats and get the wheels in motion for the day ahead and described it as a "rewarding" experience.

"I suppose it's in the blood," she told the Irish Sun. "My dad was a gifted carpenter and my aunt and grandmother were talented at sugar craft. I did one course in Chicago and another in England."

It looks like her culinary talents have gained a few famous fans too as she said she has even baked caked for RTE legend Gay Byrne's grandchildren and has been recruited by her celebrity friends for other occasions.

Last month, it was revealed that she and her estranged husband David Agnew are facing a bid by Bank of Scotland to re-possess a house, a mortgage for which remains in both their names.

Dublin County Registrar Rita Considine heard today that Ms King had already been served with a civil bill seeking possession of Idrone House in Idrone Avenue, Knocklyon, Dublin 16, where she lives.

Soon after, Adele said that she was "thinking of downsizing" from her Georgian mansion in south Dublin, and added: "It might be the smartest thing I'd ever do in my life.
