Irish actor Aidan Turner is reportedly back on the singles market.

The 33-year-old Poldark star is said to have called time on his relationship with artist Nettie Wakefied after eight months of dating due to busy schedules, according to The Sun.

Since splitting with Irish actress Sarah Greene in 2015 after a six year relationship, Turner has been linked to a number of women but appeared to have become settled with Wakefield as the pair were often pictured looking loved-up around London.

Last year, he sent the rumour mill into overdrive when he was pictured kissing Swedish marketing executive Tara Deradkshan.

While he has often been quiet about his love life (when he was asked last September about his relationship status, he simply said, "I can't answer that"), but his legions of super fans will be happy to know he has a type - non-actresses.

Turner said that relationships between actors can be clouded with industry talk and overshadow the "real things", describing it as !quite dull and taxing".

"If you're in my business and you find somebody who does exactly what you do and you're living with them, then you're in the business all the time. You go home, talk about casting directors, you talk about the press, you talk about the next job you're doing - it can become quite dull and taxing," he told TV Week in the Irish Mail on Sunday.

"There's nothing like going out with somebody who doesn't even care what you're doing, let alone have anything to say about it. Because then it boils down to what the real things are, you know?

"You're left with the epicentre, the crux of it, what your relationship really is. And I think that's what turns me on."
