The 36-year-old is known for her love of fitness and she recently branched into the lifestyle market with her ‘Pure Results’ bootcamp retreats.

The Carlow native maintains that she has to work hard consistently to keep her figure honed and toned, and she insists that there’s no such thing as a short term fix.

The Operation Transformation presenter believes in an 80/20 approach when it comes to her own diet and workout regime.

“80 percent of the time, which is during the week, I would have my routine of exercise and food plan,” the star told the Irish Daily Mirror.

“When it comes to the weekend, I would run one 5k and then I would go out and have my wine. I’m not really a slave to the cause,” she admitted.

“Having to strip down to your swimsuit or bikini is one of the biggest fears of the summer for many of us. Whatever your size or age, the trick is to be body confident but that’s easier said than done,” she stated.

When it comes time to prep for a beach holiday, Kathryn revealed that her top tip is exfoliation and some pampering such as a manicure and pedicure.

The Voice host also shared an insight into her daily diet and some sample meals.

For breakfast, she will generally opt for whole foods and low GI carbohydrates.

“My breakfast could be anything from berries with coconut milk yoghurt, porridge with flax seeds, my fruit and veg smoothies.”

“I try and have eggs in the morning but generally I like simple and sweet so I don’t have to go cooking.”

Later in the day, Kathryn will snack on homemade protein balls made with antioxidant rich raw cacao powder, dessicated coconut and dates, or hard boiled eggs which she prepares the night before.

“I probably drink three litres of water a day,” she added. “For lunch, I’m on the go most of the time. I try to be clean with something like sweet potato and salmon fishcakes or a vegetarian curry.”

The self proclaimed “Mrs Tupperware” also said she is making great use of the barbecue at the moment with her boyfriend Padraig McLoughlin.

“Last night, we just fired a couple of chicken breasts on it and had some salad,” she said.
