It was initially reported officials from the Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services were looking into the alleged incident, which took place on a private jet last week (ends16Sep16), days before Angelina Jolie filed papers to end her two-year marriage to Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences.

The DCFS investigation is still said to be ongoing, but an LAPD spokesman has made it clear detectives are not involved and do not have an open case on the actor.

"LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr. Brad Pitt," the representatives tells Us Weekly.

The actor, Angelina Jolie and their children were on a private jet last Wednesday when he reportedly got drunk and “went wild, screaming” and got “physical with the kids,” sources tell TMZ.

The plane is said to have landed at 8pm and Pitt (52) continued his rage on land and left in a fuel truck.

Someone on the plane or on the tarmac reportedly informed the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services, and the incident is now being investigated, according to TMZ.

The sources say the rant prompted Jolie to separate from her husband of two years the next day and file for divorce days later.

A source close to Pitt told TMZ: "He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children."

"It's unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light."

Jolie filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences as grounds for the split, court documents showed.

She sought full physical custody of their six children, and Pitt asked for visitation rights. Jolie cited their separation date as Sept. 15.

Entertainment website TMZ, citing a legal filing, said Jolie "was extremely upset" by Pitt's parenting methods.

Hours later, Brad Pitt released a statement revealing how "saddened" he is by the entire situation

“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Jolie and Pitt, known collectively as "Brangelina," were one of the entertainment world's most visible couples, due to their good looks, successful films and activism. They married in 2014 after 10 years together.
