Father Ed? Courtney Cox and Johnny McDaid want Ed Sheeran to officiate at wedding
Ed Sheeran may be granted the highest honour at the upcoming nuptials of actress Courteney Cox and Irish rocker Johnny McDaid - by officiating at their wedding.
Ed is the man responsible for introducing former Friends star Courteney (51) to Snow Patrol's Johnny (39) at a party in 2013.
Reports now suggest that Ed may even become an ordained pastor so that he can marry the loved-up pair.
The Daily Star quotes a source as saying Ed thinks it would be a "hoot".
In California it is possible for online applicants to become legally certified to perform weddings and other religious services in less than 72 hours.
One internet ministry, Christian Harvest Church, offers to set up wannabe preachers for as little as £50 with a deal called “Clergy Pack 1”.
It entitles them to call themselves “Pastor” and charge members of the public to legally officiate at ceremonies.
Ed had already been lined up to sing at the Big Day bash. Courteney recently told The Sun, "We are certainly grateful to Ed for introducing us. I can’t imagine him not playing something at the wedding. It’ll be a musical night.”
Irish rockers Kodaline may also play a musical role in the ceremony given they spent a week at Courteney and Johnny's Malibu home recently where Courteney directed their new video for Love Will Set You Free which was co-written by Johnny.
