The Golden-Globe nominated actor (39) joined his sister Claudine, brother Eamon and brother-in-law Stephen Mannion for last night's opening of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night at the Bord Gais Energy Theatrea.

The Castleknock native, who enjoyed a career resurgence this year with his roles in True Detective 2 and The Lobster, looked better than ever as he took to the red carpet for the VIP event.

Farrell opted for a low-key look of bootcut jeans, grey t-shirt and peacoat, flanked by his beaming family.

The A-lister never is in town for the Irish premiere of The Lobster tomorrow night and is making the most of his time here. Yesterday, the big-hearted star met members of the Katie Rose Foundation, which offers support to patients and their families for rare genetic condition, Mitochondrial Disease.

He's also rumoured to appear on The Late Late Show this Friday night.
