The 2fm star confirmed last month she was expecting "against the odds" following a cancer battle.

Louise, who married long-term partner Gordon Spierin last month, told the Herald she was excited, but admitted she was afraid to get "too excited".

The DJ battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma for nearly a year and is in remission.

"I feel good and I'm excited," Louise told this newspaper.

"It's a weird thing because we weren't sure if it was really going to happen for us that easily, so it's scary because you don't want to get too excited in case something goes wrong. With every week that goes by I think, 'Okay, maybe I can really get into it now,' and that's great."

Louise, who is five months' pregnant, said she was taking each day as it comes.

"I don't think I've let myself really believe it yet.

"It's exciting but I'm trying to do everything right and be careful, and just hope for the best."

Louise said that her eating habits have surprised her and she actually had a smaller appetite now.

"I've no weird cravings yet and strangely, I'm eating less than I was. "I don't know what that's about, but I'm into it.

"I'm just trying to eat really healthily because suddenly you have to be responsible.

"I didn't know what my body would be like; I've definitely expanded, but I don't have a proper bump yet."

The 31-year-old, who presents an evening show on 2fm, said she was surprised she fell pregnant.

She said she was prepared for the worst when it came to her fertility as "the treatment which had saved my life had also decimated my egg count".

"Where I should have been at 35 or 40 on the scale of being able to conceive, I was a two.

"I was a two, and I was p**sed off," she said last month.

A delighted Louise said she had been prepared for an uphill battle to try to conceive naturally.
