'Everything is amazing' - Xpose host Cassie Stokes opens up about reconciling with her long-term girlfriend
TV3 star Cassie Stokes has said "everything is amazing," especially since she reconciled with her long-term girlfriend, who she briefly split with last year.
The Xpose host reunited with her former girlfriend of three and a half years Kathleen Sylvie Marie late last year, and said that she is "thrilled" that Kathleen has moved over from Toronto to live with her in Ireland.
"We got back together and she’s moved over here now. She moved over here two weeks ago, so everything is brilliant, amazing," she told Independent.ie at the launch of the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards.
"She has a job, she’s now in Paris for the next four weeks training. So she moved over for two weeks, then maybe she had enough of me and made sure she was training in another city," joked the 29-year-old.
The Dundrum native, who moved from Canada to join the TV3 lineup last April, said she is "thrilled" that Kathleen has moved over for the second chapter in their relationship.
"She brought her dog and everything, so I’ve got the family back," she gushed.
"I’m absolutely thrilled. I’m very lucky that she’s over here and she’s brilliant. Everyone will meet her and be like, 'Why are you with Cassie?'"
"I’ve got one more Canadian over, and she’s fallen in love with Dublin and she’s more than happy to be here, well until her visa runs out!"
It won't be long until the pair return to Canada, however, as they will be travelling over again in June to celebrate Pride in Toronto.
"We’re going to go to Toronto for Pride in June. We met there four, five years ago. It’s a good tradition after our year we’ve had of not being together. It’ll be nice to go back to Toronto as a tourist and be able to come back and have Dublin."
The rising TV star is nominated in the Most Stylish Newcomer category and joined fellow nominees at the launch, including Doireann and Aoibhin Garrihy and Dayl Cronin.
The 16th Peter Mark VIP Style Awards will take place in the Marker Hotel, Dublin, on April 21.
