Storm Keating has opened up about her relationship with husband Ronan Keating, admitting that the singer’s affair in his past marriage didn’t bother her.

“It was obvious to me that he was one of the good guys who just happened to go through what, unfortunately, a lot of people seem to go through these days,” the 34-year-old told VIP magazine.

“Even good guys can make mistakes (as well as good women) but as everyone knows, there’s often a very good reason behind it.”

When asked if Keating’s affair troubled her, the Australian TV producer responded: “Not at all.”

The pair met on the set of Australian X Factor in 2010, and Storm admits that her relationship with the Boyzone singer had its complications from the very start because of Ronan’s presence in the public eye and his three children from his previous marriage, Jack (17), Missy (15) and Ali (10).

“Even to come out publicly that we were dating was so extraordinarily difficult because there were so many people involved – the kids especially – and you don’t want to go there unless you know for sure that it’s going to be for the rest of your life,” she said.

“It’s the opposite of a normal dating situation where you have the luxury of time and can just shrug your shoulders and move on if it doesn’t work.”

“We had to be responsible and we had a lot of serious things to consider from the get-go.”

The designer revealed that she was wary about getting into a relationship with Ronan (38) as she knew it would mean leaving her life in Australia behind.

“I was not very quick to throw myself into the relationship to be honest.”

“I was happy in my career and I have a great family and friend circle in Australia and I knew committing to Ro meant moving to the other side of the world – I was never going to ask Ro to move to Australia when his kids are in Ireland.”

The couple wed in a star-studded ceremony in Scotland last August.

Keating’s 14-year marriage to Yvonne Connolly ended in 2011. The singer had a secret relationship with dancer Francine Cornell while married to Yvonne.
