Elton John cancels shows after being hospitalised due to 'rare infection'

Elton John has cancelled all of his upcoming Vegas shows next month after he was hospitalised due to "a rare illness".
According to the statement from Rogers and Cowan Elton John contracted a rare bacterial infection after his South American tour and became “violently ill” on his flight home from Chile.
He was admitted to the hospital when he returned home to the UK and spent two nights in intensive care.
After spending two nights in intensive care followed by an extended stay in hospital, Elton was released from hospital on Saturday, April 22 and is now comfortably resting at home.
According to the statement, the infection is rare and potentially deadly.
Elton is expectec to make a full recovery.
He will be returning to his schedule of live performances in Twickenham, England on Saturday June 3rd.
Elton John, Caesars Palace and AEG apologise for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders.
"I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologise for disappointing them.
"I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well," said Elton.
