'Dream big and work hard' - Victoria Beckham receives OBE from Prince William
Victoria Beckham was honoured with an OBE at Buckingham Palace today.
Victoria was honoured in recognition of her 17-year career in the fashion industry, in which she has carved a successful career with her clothing line.
She chose one of her own signature designs to accept her Order of the British Empire; a midnight-blue knit dress with a flounced skirt, maroon suede shoes and kept her hair tied low in a loose bun.
The honour comes just days after the former Spice Girl celebrated her 43rd birthday.
Victoria said in a statement: It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today. I'm proud to be British, honoured and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge.
"If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things.
"I'm so happy to share this very special occasion with my parents and husband; without their love and support, none of this would be possible."
Victoria was accompanied by her husband David, who was granted the same title 13 years ago.
The Beckhams are close friends with the royals, thanks to David's charity work and the pair attended William's wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011, when Victoria was pregnant with daughter Harper.
Earlier this year, emails between the former England football captain and his publicist, suggested his attempts to use his charity work were part of a campaign for a knighthood.
He also criticised the honours system and those on the honours committee.
