'Delivery for the McGregor/Devlins' - Conor McGregor's dad confirms birth of new baby grandson
Conor McGregor's father Tony has confirmed that his son has welcomed his first child with Dee Devlin.
Tony McGregor took to his Facebook page to confirm the birth of Conor McGregor Jr on Saturday afternoon.
"Delivery for the McGregor/Devlins," the proud granddad wrote on his Facebook page.
The MMA star and his long-term love Dee welcomed their baby in the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital this weekend.
The Notorious caused speculation earlier this weekend after he opened an Instagram account for the new arrival, which had been verified by the social media platform.
Meanwhile, McGregor told his 12.5m Instagram followers last week that the happy couple were anticipating their baby's arrival.
"In the hoppo [hospital] not there yet," he wrote alongside a picture of him and a glowing Dee.
McGregor announced late last year he and Dee would be welcoming their first child and in February, he expressed fears for his baby's safety in public and warned fans not to mob him on the street.
"I’m not trying to bring a kid into that. If someone comes near me when I have my kid in my hands, like the way they come near me now, looking for pictures, someone’s gonna be badly hurt," he told GQ Magazine.
Similarly, the MMA superstar said he would be taking some time off after welcoming the new arrival to spend with his family and doesn't want their lives to become a celebrity circus.
"I don't want to be bringing a child into anything like this. I don't want any celebrity-type s***, I hate all that. I don't want my family to be like that. So that's a thing in the back of my head so I'm just going to have this baby, take a little bit of time and see what way I feel after that."
He fuelled speculation that the pair could be welcoming a son when he referred to the baby as "him" during an interview at An Experience With Conor McGregor event.
