"Dad is way too nice to boyfriends," jokes Aisling Quinn

Model Aisling wishes her father, soccer legend Niall Quinn, was sterner when meeting boys in her life.
The awkward chit-chat, the stern judgment ... bringing a boyfriend to meet your dad can be tough.
But model Aisling Quinn says she wishes her dad -- soccer hero Niall Quinn -- was tougher on her boyfriends and not so laid-back.
"Whenever I've brought boyfriends to meet my parents or to our family home, dad has been very diplomatic," she says.
"A little too diplomatic. He's not a big scary monster. To be honest, I'd like him to be a bit more like that.
"Dad always sees the best in people; he's very patient and lets me figure it all out myself."
But Aisling says model mum Gillian is a more critical.
"Mum is a very good judge of character and I really trust her opinion. I'd listen to what she has to say," she says.
At the moment, there is no love on the horizon for Aisling, who is footloose and fancy-free.
"I haven't got a boyfriend at the moment -- and I don't plan on having one soon.
"But when I was younger it was always nice having them suss people out -- hear what they have to say."
The 18-year-old has taken a break from the modelling scene to focus on her studies, but says she is looking forward to getting glammed up and hitting the catwalk.
"It's great being down in Kildare; it gives you great focus when you're back home," she explains.
"But I cannot wait to get back to work," she said.
"I've been in Kildare for the past few months with my hair in a bun, studying and lounging around in leggings and a T-shirt.
"So it will be nice to head back up to Dublin and see all the girls again and go out a bit. There will be a reason to put a bit of tan back on, which will be great," she laughs.
"I've really missed the modelling and plan on moving back up to Dublin with a group of my friends once exam season is over.
"I don't know what Andrea Roche has lined up for me, but I'm sure she has a good few ideas in the pipeline."
Aisling was chatting at the launch of dad Niall's new Q Sat Broadband demo tour and said posing with him for the cameras was a change of scene -- although she doesn't reckon he's as good at voguing as her glamorous mum.
"I've never worked with Dad before, so it was a nice change. I don't know if he's as good as mum with checking the hair and the make-up as I'd like him to be," she laughs.
"Or as good at posing. But it was fun working with him."
