Couture meets Crayola for Angelina's wedding gown
ANGELINA Jolie walked down the aisle wearing a dress daubed with drawings by her beloved children.
Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt wanted their six children to have an integral role in their wedding day - so Jolie asked the team at Atelier Versace to embroider the back of her dress and veil with doodles and drawings.
"I wanted the kids to be a part of everything including the dress because that's our family," Jolie said. "That represents the way we live our life together."
The couple, who are commonly referred to as 'Brangelina', wed in a secret ceremony in the chapel of their French estate, Château Miraval, on August 23.
'Hello!' and 'People' magazines were given exclusive rights to publish pictures from the couple's big day.
This is the fourth exclusive deal the couple have made with the publications.
In 2006 they sold exclusive shots of their first child Shiloh; in 2007 the publications obtained exclusive images of son Pax; and pictures of Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline are believed to have been sold for more than $11m in 2008.
All proceeds from these magazine deals have gone towards the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
Pitt hummed 'Here Comes the Bride' as Jolie walked down the aisle accompanied by their children Maddox and Pax.
"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter. It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family," the pair explained.
The couple met on the set of 'Mr and Mrs Smith' in 2005. This is Pitt's second wedding after a five-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston, and Jolie's third.
The couple will spend their honeymoon in Malta shooting movie 'By The Sea' which, rather ironically, tells the story of an unhappily married couple.
