Courteney Cox confirms engagement to Irish rocker Johnny McDaid
Courteney Cox has confirmed her engagement to Johnny McDaid.
The Cougar Town actress prompted speculation she had become the Snow Patrol star’s fiancée when she was spotted out in Los Angeles with a giant ring on her wedding finger during a recent night out.
The couple finally put an end to the speculation on Thursday, simultaneously tweeting with a selfie.
"I'm engaged to him!" the actress gushed.
"I'm engaged to her!" Johnny wrote.
The messages came just weeks after Courteney had clarified a large rock she was wearing at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie Just Before I Go was not in fact an engagement ring.
"This is not... the question at hand! ...That I've worn forever!" she joked, adding, "Don't look at my hands! They look horrible!"
Details of the engagement remain unknown.
However, Courteney, 50, was recently said to be hoping for a quickie wedding, possibly as soon as this month.
"She's throwing a big party at home in LA and it looks like it'll be more than a birthday bash," an insider told British magazine Heat in May. "She's asked guests to wear white and dress smart - and has let slip that there's going to be a BIG surprise."
Courteney and Johnny, 37, were first linked last year. The actress has nine-year-old daughter, Coco, with her ex-husband David Arquette, who recently welcomed a son, Charlie West, with partner Chistina McLarty.
