Comic Neil Delamere gets married at James Bond-style wedding
He's used to standing up in front of a crowd, so no doubt comedian Neil Delamere could handle the nerves as he waited for his bride to walk down the aisle.
The funnyman finally got hitched over the weekend to partner Jane Russell.
The couple married in Co Tipperary and have since jetted out of the country for a three-week honeymoon, The Herald can reveal.
They wed in front of close friends and family before Neil hired a vintage Aston Martin to escort his other half to their reception.
While he has kept most of the details of his big day under wraps, he shared a picture of the sports car made famous by the James Bond film with his fans on Twitter.
“Got to drive this yesterday. Felt like Roger Moore. Or Christy Moore. One of the Moores anyway,” he wrote online.
Neil’s new wife, who wore an embellished dress with a fur stole, is one of the producers of the Sky Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny and the loved-up pair met during the event several years ago. Although they are enjoying a romantic holiday abroad, Neil is due back to work in July to begin rehearsals for his forthcoming stand-up show in Vicar Street.
It’s scheduled to take place in August when Neil has invited cameras into the Dublin venue to record the show.
Neil has carved an impressive career on home soil and unlike his pals Jason Byrne and Dara O Briain, has remained largely in Ireland. In addition to his stage shows, he has become a regular face on RTE television, previously presenting The Panel and making documentaries for RTE.
