Cheryl Fernandez-Versini blasts women who are 'jealous' of her relationship with One Direction's Liam Payne
Cheryl Fernandez-Versisi has hit back at women who she believes are jealous of her relationship with Liam Payne.
The X Factor star has been reportedly dating the One Direction singer for the last two months.
However, the 32-year-old has come under attack from some of Liam's fans who have taken to social media to troll the singer, labelling her "grandma" because of the 10-year age gap between the pair.
Cheryl has clearly had enough of the negativity and has taken to Instagram to hit back at women who refuse to "empower" each other.
The former Girls Aloud star shared an image of an inspirational quote which read: "Girls compete with each other. Women empower each other."
Underneath the image she wrote: "It can be so hard at times being a girl, for sooo many reasons! But we don't have to make it harder for each other.
"Why do we still feel the need to do that ?? I don't understand it. I have always been a Girls girl, and love other strong women."
She continued: "That is why I surround myself with them, and that is why I try to empower others. Trying to pull another person down, only speaks volumes about your character!
"There's nothing more powerful or beautiful than an inspiring, strong women that you can look up to or turn to... Be one!!!"
Things are looking serious for the pair as Liam recently called Cheryl his 'favourite woman in the world' when he shared a throw-back photo of her on his official Instagram page alongside a gushing message.
"Happy #internationalwomensday to my favourite woman in the world... hope I make you as happy as u make me X," he wrote.
And it seems that Liam has gained family approval as the pair were pictured dining with Cheryl's mum, Joan Callaghan, in a swanky Italian restaurant in London on Wednesday night.
The brunette beauty has said her mother is the person she trusts most in her life.
