Top actor Channing Tatum received divine inspiration for his new movie Magic Mike XXL while he was in Dublin several years ago.
The 35-year-old Hollywood star said that he was inspired to include a few jigs and reels in the steamy flick.
"It's a couple of cool moves that I saw these dancers do at this traditional Irish dancing show in some pub in Dublin that I was like, 'Man, these guys, they got something. They are so tight and on point so I definitely snuck a few shapes, a few moves in. I stole a few. Now whether anyone notices, or worse, sees me completely messing up, only time will tell," he revealed.
A former exotic dancer himself, Tatum stated that it's important for him to incorporate different types of influences into his performances.
"I like to change things up, include some moves from different sources. Keep the performances fresh," he said. "I want to be creative."
The A list actor also confirmed that the concept for the original 2012 hit Magic Mike was devised over a "couple of beers" in Dublin with director Steven Soderbergh.
"Over a couple of beers, that's when I told Steven that I had this time in my life and he was like, 'You should do something with that. That sounds like a great story.'"
