And after a two decade-long friendship, Deeley says they have plenty of time apart to give them space.

“We start getting on each other’s nerves. He starts to hate me and I start to hate him," she said.

“And he has to go away and I kind of miss him. We’re normally apart for about 10 days. And then he comes back and we’re lovely again.

“It works out perfectly. It’s the perfect scenario. Lots of my friends are quite jealous about our relationship.”

Cat, who has been dominated for several Primetime Emmys, said she and her husband of two years are still very much in the honeymoon period.

"It’s very cute right now," she gushed. “It’s a bit like, ‘You put the phone down first’, ‘No you put it down’.

“But ask me again in five years and it might be a different story," she joked.

Deeley previously said that it was her friendship with her now husband that allowed them to get to know each other before they were both ready.

"I know that I definitely wasn’t ready for Patrick until now – nor he me. And we have had to get to a spot where we were and we have. And knowing each other for 20 years is brilliant. That feels like good foundations for the future," she said.

"We’d always been friends and we’d always stayed friends, friends with chemistry. We’d worked together – presenting Fame Academy – but for one reason or another it never happened. We never thought we’d end up together."
