The singer, who is based in London with his Irish model wife Vogue Williams, has sent the rumour mill into overdrive after partying with show boss Simon Cowell and his partner Lauren Silverman, long-standing judge Louis Walsh and show stalwart Sinitta.

The famous group were attending the VIP attending opening night of the Cabaret Club in London.

Cowell is returning to the programme after a hiatus to focus on the now defunct US version and bringing back fan favourite Cheryl Cole.

Speculation has been rife over who will take the coveted fourth seat on the judging panel, which brings a minimum six figure salary and tv superstardom.

McFadden is no stranger to talent shows having starred on Australia's Got Talent alongside former X Factor veteran Dannii Minogue.

The show was cancelled in 2012 and he moved from his Sydney base to London.

The father-of-two previously said he'd love to join the show, albeit joking it would happen when Louis Walsh dies.

“It’s great that you can have an outlet for people with talent to go to. A long time before these shows it was really hard if you had a talent to get signed or to get a deal or anything like that,” he said.

“The one question people used to always ask was, ‘I have talent, what do I do?’ and I suppose these shows are a great way for people to be found.”

And when asked if he would ever fancy becoming a judge on X Factor himself, Brian told Gill Harvey in a joking manner: “I’m going to be the next judge on X Factor, I’m just waiting for Louis Walsh to pass away! It's in the contract, as soon as Louis dies, it’s in his will that I take his seat, so any day now!”
