Bowled over Irish singer says 'I do' to cricket captain
IRISH singer Morgan Deane will marry South African cricket captain Graeme Smith in Cape Town today.
The vocalist, who backed Jedward in the Eurovision last May, and her fiance will take their vows at a church ceremony, followed by a reception at a local restaurant.
One of South Africa's most popular cricketers, Smith (30) met Deane while she holidayed in South Africa last January and he proposed on a visit to Ireland in April.
Morgan (25), who is from Co Cork, previously said of her meeting with the cricket star: "I'm experiencing something I never felt before and it's incredible. People say to really fall in love, only happens once in your life. I believe that in some cases it never happens at all.
"I would probably have settled for a lesser love myself up until I met Graeme because I had no idea that I could actually love someone as much as I do him. I feel blessed to have him in my life and I'm very excited to begin our future together."
The couple's wedding reception will take place in the Suikerbossie restaurant in Cape Town's Hout Bay suburb.
It is built inside an old farmhouse and lies in the shadow of Table Mountain.
Smith's agent, Fiona de Souza, said several of Morgan's relatives had flown out from Ireland for the big day.
She said: "Graeme and Morgan are obviously very excited and will be joined for their wedding by some of their closest family and friends.
"Graeme is a huge star in South Africa but he wanted to have a very private and small ceremony so will be keeping it low-key."
