Bono and Michael Fassbender were among a host of stars who got together to celebrate Noel Gallagher's birthday at the weekend.

The former Oasis guitarist turned 50 on Monday and threw a Narcos-themed party on Saturday to celebrate the milestone.

Gallagher's wife Sara MacDonald hired Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire for the event at a cost of £20,000 (€23,000), according to the Daily Mail.

It was an A-list affair at the lavish party, with Bono, Michael Fassbender and girlfriend Alicia Vikander, and Madonna among guests.

Madonna shared a photo from the event to Twitter, posing with the U2 front man and designer Stella McCartney.

"Worlds collided at Noel Gallagher's birthday bash," she wrote.

Blur star Damon Albarn and comedian David Walliams were also in attendance at the event, although Noel's estranged brother Liam was nowhere to be seen.
