Bikers come to rescue of stranded Springsteen
Coming across Bruce Springsteen on a broken-down motorcycle at the side of the road could probably be a lyric from one of his songs, but it really happened for a group of bikers from New Jersey.
Members of the Freehold American Legion were riding after a Veterans Day event when one of them, Dan Barkalow, saw a stranded biker up ahead near Allaire State Park.
"Bikers gotta stick together," Mr Barkalow said. "I stopped to see if he needed help, and it was Bruce."
Mr Barkalow says they tried to help get his bike running, but when they couldn't, the Boss and his new pals headed to a bar.
"We sat there and shot the breeze for 45 minutes till his ride showed up," Mr Barkalow said. "Nice guy, real down to earth. We just talked about bikes and his Freehold days."
