Ben Affleck's new girlfriend Lindsay Shookus 'were both married when they started dating'
Ben Affleck's burgeoning relationship with producer Lindsay Shookus has only been public since Friday and boy, have we been bombarded with gossip since.
Affleck and wife of 10 years Jennifer Garner ended their marriage in March, two years after announcing their split and it's reported that he is in the "early stages" of a romance with Shookus, a producer on Saturday Night Live.
Shookus was married to Kevin Miller since 2010, but multiple sources are reporting that the pair began dating while they were both legally married.
The Oscar-winning producer (44), who has three children with Garner, often met the producer in New York and she reportedly flew to Los Angeles to see him, with People and US Weekly claiming the relationship began when they were both married, but emphasise that neither were the cause of their respective marriage breakdowns.
Another source contradicts the reports though to People, who said: "They’ve known each other for a while. They’re dating — it is relatively new. It’s still in a really early stage. He’s working on himself, he’s working on being happy and healthy. There is not one reason why any marriage breaks up."
"The friendship’s been going on for a very long time but this is newer waters for them. They’ve been trying to take it slow but it’s progressing quickly. Their feelings are strong," another insider added.
Garner and Affleck have been separate for the last two years and last weekend, they spent the Fourth of July together with their children. Last month, they flew to the Bahamas together as a family in order to keep their relationship as cordial as possible for the sake of the young children - Violet (11), Seraphina (eight) and Samuel (five).
The Mother's Day star (45) is reportedly "okay" with his new relationship. She has not been publicly linked to anyone since their split.
