Beaming Gordon D'Arcy pictured visiting wife Aoife Cogan and baby girl Soleil
Irish rugby star Gordon D'Arcy has been pictured for the first time since welcoming his first child into the world.
The newly retired Leinster player welcomed a daughter with wife, model Aoife Cogan on Tuesday. He broke the news of the new arrival on Twitter, sharing a sweet photo of him gripping her hand in hospital.
The pair named their little girl Soleil and have not yet revealed the inspiration behind the unusual name, which translates to Sun in French.
Gordon was pictured yesterday making his way into Holles Street hospital where the former Miss Ireland gave birth, bringing a lunch for his wife of three years.
The power couple, who wed in 2012, were pictured just last weekend at the Leinster Ball, where he paid a fitting tribute to his wife, a former Miss Ireland.
"To my side Aoife, thank you. You're an amazing woman, you're giving me the best gift that anyone could ever give."
Gordon and Aoife own Dublin Pilates studio Form School together and the top model retired from the runway last year.
Earlier this year, Aoife said they wanted to leave the baby's gender as a surprise, saying: "There are so few surprises left in life and I love all the guessing; the old wives' tales and everyone having a theory about whether it's a boy or a girl because of the way you're carrying the baby and the shape of the bump.
"But overall I just think it's a lovely a surprise, especially on your first."
