Anne Robinson claims she does not know "exactly" how much she is worth - but said she would like to think it is more than £50 million.
The 70-year-old TV host, known for her quiz master duties on The Weakest Link and presenting Watchdog, said "a lot" of h er money is in property, including an apartment on Fifth Avenue in New York, a share of a house in the Hamptons and a place in Gloucestershire too.
Asked how much she is worth, Robinson told the Mail on Sunday's Event magazine: "I don't know exactly."
Adding: "Enough to have whatever I want."
Quizzed on whether reports that she was worth £60 million 10 years ago but is now down to £30 million are true, she told the magazine: "No. I would like to think it is more than 50."
Robinson, whose latest show is called Britain's Spending Secrets, said: "Money is something we are all fascinated and governed by, and yet it is very British not to actually talk about it.
"You'll discuss your sex life, your mother's dementia, your operations and whatever else at a dinner party, but people won't talk about money."
The presenter said most people find her attitude to money "bottom-clenchingly embarrassing".
Speaking about her own shopping habits when it comes to designer clothes, she told the magazine: "I just buy what I want. Genuinely. I buy at Dover Street, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Marni... a lot of them are very expensive but I use them and I get enormous pleasure out of them. So, erm... 50, 60 grand a year."
