Angela jets in from exotic 'mini-moon'
Flame-haired TV presenter Angela Scanlon made a fleeting return home this week after her "mini-moon" in Marrakesh.
The broadcaster and her hubby Roy Horgan flew tothe Bohemian Kingdom following their nuptials in Wicklow.
"We had an old-fashioned knees-up in the countryside with lots of cake and confetti," Angela said.
"We got hitched without a hitch – pretty much everything ran according to plan. Best of all there was no rain so I didn't need to swap my black shoes for wellington boots."
The pair spent a week lounging around the plush Hotel Riad el Fenn – owned by Richard Branson's sister Vanessa – and couldn't get enough of "the spices, smells and silk kaftans".
Angela hardly had time to say 'Casablanca' before she was back in the airport and high-tailing her way to Krakow – where she's filming the TV series Getaways for BBC Northern Ireland. There's also a documentary series for RTé near completion. Before that hits our screens, she'll be teaming up with dashing gents Brendan Courtney and milliner extraordinaire Philip Treacy to judge the Best Dressed Lady at the RDS Horse Show.
"We're on the hunt for something effortless," she said. "Not too matchy-matchy. Someone who looks at ease in their outfit, no hobbling about in platform shoes. And with Philip there, a good hat is an absolute must."
Of course it is – let's not forget this is the man who said: "A hat can be many things – armour, an expression of love, a means of defence or a dream. It can make an outfit, a day, a life."
