Andy Murray expecting a second child with wife Kim 17 months after daughter Sophia's arrival
Tennis star Andy Murray and his wife, Kim Sears, are expecting their second child.
The couple, who married in 2015, already have a one-year-old daughter, Sophia.
The pair have already told friends and family about the happy news, which comes as 30-year-old Murray prepares for his first match on Monday at Wimbledon as defending champion.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference ahead of this year's championship, he said he is "very happy" about the news.
"We're both obviously very happy and looking forward to it," he said.
Asked if the excitement of his new child would affect his performance, he said "No, I wouldn't have thought so," and admitted that the family had known of the news for some time.
Murray will take to the SW19 court on Monday, where he will face Russia’s Alexander Bublik.
Murray and brother, follow professional player Jamie, were encouraged to play tennis as children by their mother, Judy.
