Kickboxer Andrew Tate has claimed producers removed him from the Big Brother house because they felt he was "too risky".

The 29-year-old, who was originally among a group of contestants known as The Others, posted a video message on his Facebook page in which he said he had been threatened by other housemates.

The four-time world kickboxing champion, from Chicago, claimed housemates Jackson Blyton, Chelsea Singh and Marco Pierre White Jr had made threats to hit him since he entered the main house on Saturday.

A spokeswoman for Big Brother confirmed he had been removed from the house but said his claims were "completely false".

In a video message which did little to shed light on his departure, Tate said: "I just wanted you all to know that I'm no longer in the Big Brother house, I'm afraid.

"I had a new plan that I wanted to do, which was much better than calling them all snakes.

"I had an amazing masterplan and the producers of the show were worried that if I did such an amazing plan and got caught, that it was all going to kick off in a big way because since I've been in the house, Marco threatened to hit me, Chelsea threatened to hit me, Jackson threatened to hit me.

"And they were saying to me, look, if one of those takes a swing at you please don't hit back because you would destroy them, you would annihilate them. You're a pro fighter. These are people who think they can fight, please don't hit them back'.

"And they decided my new plan was just too risky and I had to leave, so enjoy the show without me."

He also posted on Twitter: "If I stayed too many people would have walked out cause my plans are too good and they were afraid I would ruin the show."

A Big Brother spokeswoman said: "Due to information Channel 5 and Big Brother became aware of today, Andrew Tate has been removed from the Big Brother house.

"Channel 5 and Big Brother have become aware that Andrew Tate has posted a statement on Facebook about the circumstances of his departure from the Big Brother house. What Andrew says in that statement is completely false.

"Andrew was not removed because of his actions inside the house. Nor was he removed for tweets allegedly posted by him prior to his entering the house.

"Andrew was removed because of information which came to light today."

Tate, whose Big Brother biography said he is a member of Mensa, entered the main house after being told during the live eviction show on Friday that he had been selected by public vote.
