Actress Amy (36) shared a fun snap of a night out with her mother Sandra on Instagram, describing it as "#mumfun".

The IFTA winner is regularly joined by her mother on the red carpet and the pair kept it casual for their latest outing.

Amy has been busy putting the finishing touches on her screenplay, Bolt, an adaptation of her second novel,  I Wished For You.

"It's called Bolt and it's based on the second book - even though it's quite different," she told the Herald.

"I love it and it's a great experience. It's a female-led romantic comedy and it's about a woman who has commitment issues. It's a different format to my background which is writing books and even though I read hundreds of scripts for auditions, it was different putting all of that into words, literally, myself."

"I'd like to star in it, that's the goal. It would be great fun," she said. "It's amazing to be able to write for yourself and that's been fun. You do get selfish and you have to remind yourself not to take all the good lines," she laughed.

First diary I've ever properly written. #flippingcutetinytalkers
