Shannen, who first revealed her diagnosis in August 2015, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a photo of her husband of five years, Kurt Iswarienko, and showed her hair growing back.

The 45-year-old actress was taking part in #loveyourspousechallenge, which was first introduced by her close friend, former Buffy star, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The social media project sees couples sharing photos and sentimental statements about their partners and their relationship over a series of seven days.

"This is us now. Life has handed us an interesting card with cancer and although we would both prefer to not be faced with such a terrible disease, we must also search for the good," the Hollywood star wrote on Instagram.

In the social media snap, Shannen's hair appears to be growing back, following the bouts of chemotherapy she underwent to fight breast cancer.

She used the photo to also express her gratitude for those who have supported her through the struggle.

"Am I blessed? Yes. Blessed for my friends that I have. Blessed that I have a fantastic mom and blessed that this man is in my life. Cancer gives a clarity that is unique. I've seen friends run, I've seen stranger step up, I've seen the unwavering still unwaver and I've seen @kurtiswarienko there for it all. That's friendship. That's love," she wrote.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star underwent a single mastectomy in May 2015, following her diagnosis with breast cancer. Doctors subsequently discovered the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and Shannen received chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

In September she told ET her marriage was "always fantastic" but "it's even better now" since her diagnosis.
