Actress Selma Blair 'carried off plane in a stretcher after outburst mid flight'
Actress Selma Blair was hospitalised on Monday following a bizarre incident on board a plane bound for Los Angeles.
Eyewitnesses tell TMZ the Hellboy star was taken off a Delta flight from Cancun, Mexico on a stretcher after reportedly having an outburst in the first class cabin.
“He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink,” she said, according to witnesses. “He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”
A source told People magazine that Blair (43) had a reaction to prescription medication being mixed with alcohol. Two nurses supervised her for the remainder of the flight and she was taken to a local hospital when they landed at LAX.
"She was met by paramedics at LAX as soon as her plane arrived," the source added. "It looks like she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol. We don't know what sort of prescription medications."
She was travelling with her four-year-old son Arthur Saint and had been in Mexico for a Father's Day getaway with ex Jason Bleick.
The incident comes just days after the Cruel Intentions star opened up about the challenges of being a single mother to her son.
"Being a single mum, at first it’s a very challenging thing," she told People magazine, “but to have that much time with him, just the two of us, has been an incredible life-changing experience."
Selma was 39 when she gave birth, and while she acknowledges it was quite late in life to have a first child, she wouldn't have had things any other way.
"I've had a whole life to live and realise the grass isn’t always greener," she said. "I just need more sleep, but I do appreciate every moment."
The actress was on vacation in Cancun with her four-year-old son and his father Bleick. Photos of the star on the beach in a white bikini hit the Internet over the weekend.
