Actor Ryan Reynolds hit by a car in 'hit and run' with photographer

Ryan Reynolds has been hit by a car, but thankfully escaped injury.

News broke via Associated Press that the actor had been involved in an accident on Friday. According to publicist Leslie Sloane, Ryan was hit by a photographer in a hit-and-run.

"While walking, Ryan was struck by a paparazzi driving a car through an underground parking garage," Leslie revealed. "The man fled the scene. Ryan is okay."

The incident happened in the garage of the Shangri-La hotel in Vancouver, where the 38-year-old has been filming his latest flick Deadpool.

Brian Montague with Vancouver police confirmed Ryan wasn't hurt but had no further details.

Proving he's over the initial shock, the star even managed to joke about the event on Twitter. When CBC Vancouver reporter Richard Zussman messaged the star to ask how he is doing, he fired back with a quick quip.

"Put Beachcombers back on the air and I'll call. (sic)," he replied, referencing the Canadian show which ran from 1972 until 1990.

His wife Blake Lively has so far kept quiet about the incident on Twitter. The 27-year-old welcomed her first child with Ryan, a baby girl named James, in December 2014.

"She's got me wrapped around her finger. It's the best. It's just going to be tea time every day," the doting father recently gushed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
