A timeless gift: Angelina gives Brad rare €2.4m watch as wedding present
The A listers tied the knot last month after nine years together and Angelina marked the occasion with a grand gesture.
The watch is a 1952 Patek Philippe platinum chronometer, a coveted model designed by one of the most seminal Swiss watchmakers in history.
The actress had the watch inscribed with the words ‘To Roly from Nessa’, which refers to the two characters the couple play in upcoming movie ‘By The Sea’.
The two film stars are currently filming the picture in Malta, and Ange took the watch to a jeweller on the neighbouring island of Gozo to give it a personal stamp.
George Farrugia, proprietor of Dolindo Jewellers told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''I did inscribe the watch, it was for Brad and it was a rare one.”
The 57-year-old also confirmed it was “very valuable” but he did not allow the costly price tag to faze him:
''I wasn't nervous about the inscription because I knew I could do the work perfectly,” he said.
Angelina is thought to be worth an estimated €185 million while Brad is believed to have amassed over €300 million during his career.
Brad recently admitted he is ''slowing down'' his film career so he can spend more time with his wife and their six children - Maddox (13), Pax (10), Zahara (9), Shiloh (8) and six-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox with Angelina
''Truthfully, I do want to spend more time with my kids before they're grown up and gone,' the leading actor said.
